Bubbling Fizzy Fun!

We had a great science experiment at Park West Preschool this week! The kids investigated which household materials were soluble in water and then saw what happened when solutions of baking soda and citric acid react in oil. While the initial reaction was exciting, our students were even more interested to see the results of adding dish soap and salt to the mixture. This is something you can do at home and the effect is dramatic! Be warned though, this is some messy science and you need to be sure you collect the waste in a container to throw away in the garbage, as pouring oil down the sink can muck up your drains.
